Claire Alayne Brown

Claire Alayne Brown, 01.08.1959 – 02.06.2026

Wife, mother, Nana, teacher, friend, craft extraordinaire. Claire was kind, playful, & completely selfless. She was a woman who poured love into everything she did, and everyone she met. Her warmth, her laughter, her fierce loyalty to family shaped all of us lucky enough to know her.

A note from the family

Mum meant the world to us. She was the beating heart of our family, the one who held everything together with warmth, love, and always with a cup of tea (one Earl Grey, one Tetley).

If she taught you, hosted you, sat you down with a cup of tea, made you laugh at a dinner, whether you knew her from St. Bede’s, from College, from Ski Trips, from Sussex, from Herefordshire, or being one of many of Dan, Jo & CJ’s friends who passed through the house over the years, she touched your life somehow.

We know not everyone can be with us at Mum’s celebration of life. But sharing your memories here would mean the world.

We want to capture as much of her as we can. For us, for her grandchildren, and for all the people whose lives she touched. If you have a memory of Claire, no matter how small, we’d love you to share it here. A story, a photo, an anecdote, even a voice note, anything that helps us keep her close.

With all our love, Peter, Dan, Joanna & CJ
